FAQ’s & Fees

What are the fees for psychology services?
Standard appointments are 50 minutes and are available in person or via Telehealth. The cost of a 50-minute consultation is listed below.

  • Individual Psychology: Clinical Psychologist fees start at $265 for individual sessions, or 119.75 if you have a Mental Health Care Plan and rebate eligible ($145.25 Medicare rebate if applicable).

  • Executive Coaching: fees start from $350 per 60-minute session (no Medicare rebates available).

  • Group Workshops and Training Programs: prices are tailored according to the scope of the workshop.

  • Client Reports and Letters: Requests for letters or reports prepared by your psychologist will incur an additional fee equivalent to the time taken to prepare these letters / reports, pro-rated to the practitioner's scheduled fee above.

You will receive a consent form before your first session that outlines important information about fees, payment, confidentiality, and the privacy policy.

What is the difference between in person and online Telehealth?
We offer two convenient ways to access our services: in-person sessions and online sessions. The main difference lies in how and where your session takes place.

  • In-Person Sessions: These sessions are held in our Surry Hills offices, where you meet directly with a practioner for your consultation.

  • Online Sessions: Designed for convenience and accessibility, online sessions allow you to connect with a practioner from anywhere. Whether you are at home, in the office, or traveling, you can have a secure video or phone call that is just like a traditional face-to-face meeting. This format is ideal for those with busy schedules, those living away from our office, or anyone looking for a flexible and private way to receive support without the need for commuting. Online therapy also helps remove common barriers to seeking help, such as time constraints or location, making it easier to prioritise your mental well-being. For many men, online counselling can change the way they deal with mental health. It removes common barriers to therapy, such as time constraints, location, and stigma, allowing more people to prioritise their mental well-being without disrupting their daily lives.

Clients can switch between both in person and Telehealth if this is more convenient. Please let our administration team know your preference before each session.

Can I claim Medicare and Private Health Insurance Rebates?
Rebates are only available for psychology sessions with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). If you receive a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you are entitled to a Medicare rebate of $145.25 for a Clinical Psychologist per session for 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. To find out if you are eligible to access Medicare Rebates, you need to make an appointment with your GP or see your psychiatrist. They will assess eligibility and may refer you to a Psychologist under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim rebates for psychological sessions. The level of cover and any applicable waiting periods vary between providers and depend on your policy. Please check with your health insurance provider for details on your level of cover and eligibility to claim.

How are payments processed?
All payments are processed electronically using the credit/debit card details provided in the client intake form. Payment is required at the end of your face-to-face or telehealth appointment and can be made by credit card. Medicare or Private health insurance claims can be processed at the time of your session.

How does the cancellation policy work?
We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we respect your right to make decisions that best suit your circumstances. If we are notified of a cancellation or reschedule:

  • With less than 24 hours' notice: 50% cancellation fee will apply;

  • With no notice: then 100% of the full fee will apply.

If we can fill your appointment time with another patient, you will not be charged the cancellation fee. Please note that Medicare rebates are not applied to late cancellations or appointments that have not been attended. If you arrive late to a scheduled appointment, you may still attend the balance of your appointment time. The Practitioner, in their sole discretion, may choose to accommodate a late arrival, or will be required to reschedule your appointment, and a cancellation fee will apply.
